This week I am delighted to be guest blogging over at onthecuttingfloor with a tutorial for this gorgeous tweed bag.
You know me, how I love to uypcycle. This bag is created from a tweed pleated skirt, a hundred percent wool. I started by unpicking all the pleats and removing the waist band, its amazing how much fabric is hidden in the pleats
This beautifully soft fabric has fusible fleece added to create the great cute shape of the bag.
Bag in the making – sewing the lining and the main bag together – always crunch point. Have I sewn each seam with the same seam allowance, will it fit!
Gorgeous though the bag is I felt it could do with some embellishment so I created a removable felt flower brooch to wear on the bag or your jacket.
This bag is perfect for your wallet, mobile, hairbrush, notepad, tablet! Its amazing what a skirt and sheet can be transformed into:) You can download the tutorial Tweed Tote Bag instructions.
Interested in just how many items can be made from one skirt?? I had a go here.
Love them, Vicky!
