Do you have a pair of trousers which you would like as a skinny fit? Do you have a skinny pair of trousers you can use as a template? Then let’s get started, this is a quick transformation, you will be done in no time at all!
This refashion takes less than half a hour!!
Start by laying out the pair of trousers to be altered, inside out. Lay the skinny pair on top, aligning the crotch and waistband carefully.
Ensure the inside seams are perfectly aligned. Mark down the outside seam on the larger pair, where the skinny pair end.
Pin along the marked sewing seam, then trim – do not forget to allow seam allowance(as picture).
Use this first leg as a template for the second leg – it is vital to remember that this second leg the taylor chalk marks the seam allowance and not the stitch marks.
Sew seams. Finish off seams with a zigzag stitch to stop fraying.
One finished pair of skinny trousers:)
WoW! Thank you!! I have been wondering 4- ever how to do this! I just begun to learn how to sew. I can think of 5 pairs of pants I would like to make into skinny jeans. I really appreciate you for giving all of us these wonderful ideas. I can not wait to share the wealth. Take care. Stacy
