Swing Set Skort and Butterfly Blouse by BirdsongI’m LOVING the new patterns from Birdsong that released with One Thimble this week! My daughter loves her knit Swing Set Skort and Butterfly Blouse!

The Swing Set Skort is perfect for active children who love climbing, turning somersaults and practising hand stands. Whats more it’s easy to make.

I love the fact the blouse is long – my daughter takes after me and has a long body. I particularly like the little pleat in the neckline, adding a lovely detail to the top which is super simple to sew.

New to sewing knits? No worries this pattern is easy to follow with great results:)

The Swing Set Skort and Butterfly Blouse is featured in One Thimble Magazine Issue 8. You can treat yourself to the whole magazine or just this pattern.

“One Thimble is a digital sewing magazine (e-zine) made by sewing enthusiasts for sewing enthusiasts! If you enjoy sewing for biys, girls, your home or yourself the One Thimble’s the online magazine for you.”

Thank you Birdsong for the opportunity to pattern test. This is one pattern I will be sewing again and again.

  1. Thought that was a typo at first – a skort! But see now what it is and what a good idea for today’s world. Your daughter looks very pretty in the matching set.

What a pretty outfit and practical too. I can see your daughter is pleased with it from her smiles in the pics which must make you a happy mum 🙂 x

What a great idea, never heard of a skort before but think perfect for playtime or dancing

Love the skort. Must show my daughter, as she was asking me to buy her shorts to wear under a skirt, but this would be a much better solution. What a pretty model!

We recently discovered the skort here too. So practical and comfortable. My girls would love one as floats as that! I’m going over now to see the pattern! Thanks for sharing with Handmade Monday!

This looks terrific! It’s great to be able to sew clothes your kids actually WANT to wear (love that you made it in her choice of fabrics even though not your first choice – kinda like me and my daughter lol!)

I find that it takes spending a huge amount of money now to truly get quality fabrics and cocinruttson. So many 'high end' high street stores still don't give high enough quality for me to think they are worth spending the extra 20quid on. I'm trying as hard as possible to make my own, or find well-made vintage clothing. xxx
