Raglan T Shirt – Kids Clothes Week – Upcycling

Today I have whipped up two t shirts, using three of my husbands old t shirts. I followed a fab tutorial from stitched by crystal for drafting a pattern.

My tot seems singularly unimpressed, not seeming in the slightest bothered.

Its a pity the neckline on this one is way too big – I’m wondering about attempting the neckline again with a 1″ hem, would that work??

I love the tip to maximise existing hems when cutting out, this really does save time.

Taking part in kids clothes week is really helping me to continue to make friends with the “monster” overlocker!

I've found that increasing the width of the neckline binding doesn't always do the trick. From the photo it almost looks like it's cut too wide across the shoulders. Something to consider - cut and make a new neckline modeled size-wise on a t-shirt that fits him and sew it inside the neckline of this shirt. If you do it in different colours it'll look a bit like two-Tshirts worn together.

all the best Margaret
