Bethany Pants Pattern Review

When the opportunity came up to test the new pattern Bethany Patterns released by On the Cutting Floor I leapt at the chance. The pattern comes with two length choices, full length and culottes. Here in the UK we have been experiencing a mini heatwave so it seemed the natural choice to pick the culotte length with a medium weight linen type fabric (a former pair of curtains!). My plan to add a little versatility to my work wardrobe.

Once the all-important fabric and style choices made it was time to sew up.

The PDF pattern is really easy to follow, a great trouser pattern for a beginner sewer. The trousers are made with an elasticated waist. Admittedly this shape suits some more than others, as my daughter pointed out!

I love how the pattern includes side and back pockets, I just love pockets!! The side pockets do not ruin the side line, adding no unwelcome bulk around the hips!

Personally, I found the pattern a little low waisted but I do have a long crutch. It would be super easy for me to add an inch to the pattern next time I sew it up. It has crossed my mind that I could easily sew up the long length, omitting pockets as PJ bottoms.

If you fancy sewing up the pattern yourself you can find the Bethany Pants pattern here, which at the moment is 50% reduced.
