Welcome to the last of my DIY rustic Christmas decorations. These are inspired by bits of wood left over from various DIY projects. The wood off cuts are transformed into beautiful simple trees.

It seems like a life time ago we were brainstorming DIY rustic upcycled decorations to make for a local craft fair, rather than four weeks ago! Maybe next year we will suceed in having a stall. Having packed the sewing room, we are now onto packing the shed and chalk paints.

DIY Rustic Christmas Decorations

RECOMMENDED SUPPLIES:

Offcuts of wood
Saw (we used Black and Decker Scorpion)
Chalk Paint ( I used mini pots of Rustoleum chalk paint, mixing various greens)
Acrylic Paints
Stars (these seem to be readily available at this time of year on the cheaper shops, I found these at Hobbycraft)
Adhesive (E 3000)

To make mark out triangles onto your wood off cuts. Cut to size, my husband used a Black & Decker Scorpion saw.

Sand the edges.

Mix a variety of colours and paint with chalk paint. This is a versatile paint which covers all types of surfaces, even this old varnish.

Once fully dry add decoration, I used the wrong end of a paint brush to add dobs of acrylic paint, this gave a slightly three dimensional dot which I like.
