Cosy Nesting Boxes Pattern Review -Cozy Nest Designs

These boxes by Cozy Nest Design are super cute… I am so delighted that I had the opportunity to pattern test for Sarah. The range of mainly bags from Cozy Nest Design take your sewing up to the next level. I always learn a new technique when sewing one these designs up (you can see bags I have made here Layla BagConvertible/Reversible Bag and Ellory Bag).

Cosy Nesting Boxes pattern review, fabric boxes make gorgeous storage

Back to the boxes, the Cozy Nesting Boxes pattern comes with a PDF pattern for three rectangular and three square boxes. I was surprised at how much fabric is required but this does not stop you from piecing together scrap fabrics.

The boxes are sewn with a foam stabiliser – I used Annie’s Soft and Stable. If you have not sewn with it before it is fabulous for providing shape without being too rigid.

The boxes are sewn with stitching through the layers along the fold lines. This can be transferred to the fabric with tailors chalk or you can sew straight through the pattern as a guide (my preferred choice).

The final step is pinching the corners in and stitching. You can see how this transforms the boxes from slightly floppy to shaped with the before and after pictures shown.

I am delighted with the boxes – they are super useful:)

Visit these great testers to see their versions – I love seeing how a pattern works (when I’m next at a laptop as opposed to my phone I will sort the links, in the mean time copy and pâté into your browser)
