Surviving your summer hols with children

How’s your week been?

We have been away for our family holidays, camping on the North Norfolk Coast – stunning scenery.

Prior to leaving I read this fantastic blog post“The Day I stopped Saying Hurry Up”  by Rachel Staffy. On arrival at the campsite my husband commented that we have approximately ten years worth of family holidays – extremely precious. Consequently I had increased patience levels with our young children, and fully appreciated how blessed we are. Perfect reminders when we were having the daily conversation “life does not revolve around you, we are a family, we are doing activities for all of us” with our six year old. (I was encouraged to hear other parents having very similar conversations around us!)

Played Boules

Went for adventures (walks to you and I!)

Counted the variety of animals and insects we could spot in one day

and even squeezed a bit of knitting in:)

Back home I had a pleasant surprise to discover The Green Lifestyle Book I have an article in is free (for this weekend only). To download the ebook visit amazon.

I was planning on trying some of the upcyling projects for this weeks blog post, and write a review of the book – but hey there is no rush! I’m looking forward to fusing plastic bags:) Amy had a vision of creating a lion out of toilet roll’s instead, so that’s what we did!

Onto the all important winner of the giveaway:) Amy kindly helped and picked a random number for me, so the winner is commenter number six!! CatherineMaryCreates, an email is on its way to you:)

Have a great week, as usual I will be popping into Handmade Harbour,

Vicky

Oh it is really scary when people say things like that. It is really worth remembering though, especially in the bad times. Sounds as if you had the prefect holiday. Did you cook the samphire?

No!! We took it to a friends for a BBQ, and i never quite made it into the pan!! The kid had a great snail race though, occupying 2-10 year olds for a good 20 mins hunting for said snails etc!
