Today marks a particular birthday for me, lets just say it ends in a nought!
I have had a wonderful weekend celebrating with friends and family, and feel incredibly blessed. Needless to say there has been no sewing.
As a blogger I am conscious of the blogs I enjoy reading, and how often this is people who share part of their personal life. For those bloggers who do I often feel far more connected with the person, but it something I struggle with personally in terms of striking the right balance. I do wonder how my children will feel later in life with pictures of their childhood being shared on the internet. I am not deliberately withholding pictures – I just didn’t take any!!
Somewhat surprising considering this wonderful gift of a new DSLR, thanks to all who chipped in:) I just need to find a quiet moment to read the instruction manual:)
I guess at this age people often talk about a mid life crisis – I am feeling blessed. This year I have realised that I will never be “sorted” but thats OK, I come with worts and all:)
Blogging has given me a great deal… thank you to those in the blogging community who have supported me, and whom I feel I have grown to know. Too many to mention all, but in particular Kate, Jen, and Irene. This journey of upcycling, sewing, pattern testing, creating clothes has fed my creativity far more than I could have ever envisaged.
This year has led to many opportunities for guest blogging, blog hops, pattern testing, and a magazine article – I’m hoping to be google page ranked, but have no real idea why!! Even a year ago I would not have anticipated having the confidence to have a go at dress making.
This weekend I am very chuffed to have my first blog post over at Sew Mama Sew today – a DIY picnic rug.
But the biggest blessing has to be my husband, children, family and friends:)
As usual I am hopping by Handmade Harbour to see what everyone else’s week has been like,

Happy birthday! And that camera is an excellent gift. I'm pretty new to the blogging community, but I'm already enjoying connecting with so many new people and feeling the creative inspiration. It's really great, isn't it? :-)
