Works in progress

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed a confession of a photograph, an extremely untidy craft room. Not only has my tot son started school we temporally have father in law living with us. This has necessitated the removal of crafting items and Etsy stock from the spare room and a rather large sort out of the craft room.

My intention was to put away all works in progress, except the actual project in hand on the day.. sadly this intention did not last long!

This week I have been focussing on making up knitting needle cases to add stock to my Etsy shop.

I have created a corner ready for packaging and posting. Lets hope the Christmas sales come in!!

Packaging

Next up on the side a top partially cut out, this is viscose crepe which I have never sewn before. It will stretch my sewing skills, as this is for myself this is on the back burner for the moment.

A selection of fat quarters from  Andover Fabrics. I’m thinking of creating a fabric roll for storing leads for tablet, DSLR, ebook etc… At the moment we have two rather messy drawers of leads.

And lastly some felted jumpers and mugs, I have a kernel of an idea to create mug cozy’s marketted as thank you teachers gifts. The plan is to add a quote “appreciate the small things” or similar.

What are you busy working on at the moment? Hopefully you are little more focussed than myself!!

I do like the idea of some sort of organiser for charger cords etc. Everyone needs one of those! I had to do a Craft rethinj a few months ago as I had so many WIPs that it took ages to get anything finished. So now I limit my projects and allocate a specific time to each. I have a wip for the train, a night time tv wip and something that I work on in my breaks at work. Otherwise my brain turns into an explosion of a million ideas and no ending!

Creativity is messy and we are very creative. Love the knitting rolls and think they will sell really well.

For the longest time, I could NOT start a new project without finishing the first project. Then I started crocheting afghans...They take a long time to accomplish. They're worth the time and effort, but sometimes I need a quicker satisfaction of a completed project. So, I started doing other projects...and bible art journaling. Along with an afghan almost completed for my son (and plans made for the next blanket for my step-son), I'm deciding between making some wool-blend mittens, socks or hats...

I'm not surprised you need a quicker satisfaction project... it would take me forever to crochet an afghan :)

I'm glad that I'm not the only one working on umpteen different things at once. I do tend to craft whatever the mood takes me - unless I have an order or deadline for something. Your craft space looks really organised (way better than mine)

Mess fuels creativity, there's really nothing for it but to just go with it! Looks like you have a lot on the go at the moment - the knitting needle rolls are great, I bet you'll get lots of orders for those for Christmas gifts for knitters!
