This week I have been inspired by Kids Clothes Week. This great project encourages you to sew for one hour a day for seven days – I’ve made one of the seven!!
I am delighted with my upcycling project – one rather large skirt altered to fit my daughter.
I trimmed off from both sides and shortened the hem – my first impressions of the fabric is that it is a knit but when I came to work with it I was delighted to discover it is cotton cut on the bias. Somehow my knit sewing just falls apart at the seams, so this is a great boon!
A little bit of tweaking and we have one gorgeous skirt – and to tie the outfit together I have made a flower broach from some of the offcuts. I followed the pattern over at Morena’s Corner.
I am gradually working through these great flower tutorials.
As usual I am popping over to Handmade Harbour to see what other people have been up to this week:)

It's adorable and she looks like she loves it! Bias cut has the most beautiful drape!
