I am delighted to join Radiant Home Studio 2 year blog celebration. Sara has an inspiring sewing blog… Plus beautiful photographs (good photographs on a blog are always a great plus).
Today I am sharing with you one of her tutorials ” Quilted Sketchbook Cover”. As an avid fan of upcycling I naturally turned to my fabric cupboards for inspiration. I thought it would be fun to sew it up from old shirts. The thought being this may make an ideal gift for a man.
The tutorial is presented clearly, with good written instructions as well as clear photographs – I do like good photographs to help me see the next step 🙂
Before I started I sprayed the shirts with starch in an attempt to cut out accurately the triangles. This did help prevent the fabric slipping however it did not help my sewing skills!! As you can see my accuracy is somewhat ascue, but I did try!!!
The question remains is it a suitable gift for a man?

Brilliant idea to use up small scraps of fabric. I think it looks fine for a male or female.

I love that used old shirts! I never would have thought to do that, but the notebook cover looks great! Thanks for participating in the blog tour!
