Are you sewing for Christmas? It suddenly dawned on me last weekend that a changing bag needed to be ready for sister-in-laws visit to the UK. My danish nephew and wife are expecting their first baby this Christmas, back in the summer fabric was chosen and bag designs discussed…. Nothing like a looming deadline¬†to motivate me to make the bag!

The neutral fabric choices have grown on me, I love the splash of stars as you open the bag.

The bag is a modified version of the free pattern from Sew4Home. I have used standard cotton rather than PUl for the lining, reducing the number of internal pockets but adding in a zip pocket at the front of the bag.

This is designed for wallet, mobile and keys – perfect. No need to go rummaging in the bottom of the bag to find your essentials.

Lastly to add an element of surprise to the gift I whipped up a taggy, lined with the empty packet of wipes to add a sound effect for the baby.

I’m slowly working my way through handmade gifts:) If you have made some Christmas gift this month you may wish to join up with Ho Ho Ho and on we sew Christmas gift link up party here.

On a personal note I have treated myself to the course Product Photography at Home on Craftsy – they have a great Black Friday sale still on, check out the courses here.

Very smart. I think the grey is very elegant, and I love the stars on the lining.
